Employment Opportunities for 2009 Canada Games Division Coordinators

The Prince Edward Island 2009 Canada Games Host Society is seeking individuals to fill the following Division Coordinator positions. These individuals will be guided by a volunteer Vice President of the respective Division and be responsible to a Senior Manager. Athletes’ Village Division Coordinator
Duties will include the coordination, integration, planning, development and operational support for the Division’s mandate of providing housing, food, entertainment and a safe environment for all participants at the 2009 Canada Games; office accommodations for all Mission Staff; and other ancillary services, incorporating two separate Athletes’ Village venues.

Information Technology (IT) Division Coordinator
Duties will include the coordination, integration, planning, development and operational support for the Division’s mandate of ensuring the needs of all Divisions are addressed in an efficient and effective manner with a comprehensive IT and communications plan, by providing the necessary installation and support of architecture, software and communications equipment.

Services & Turnaround Division Coordinator
Duties will include the coordination, integration, planning, development and operational support for the Division’s mandate of providing logistical support for other Divisions in the areas of arrival and departure of passengers and luggage, all ground transportation needs, venue parking, venue security, operational signage, warehouse and fabrication operations, spectator services, emergency planning, and logistical implementation of plans for “turnaround weekend” and other miscellaneous activities involving cartage and movement, setup and dismantling of venues.

Sport Division Coordinator
Duties include the coordination, integration, planning, development and operational support for the Division’s mandate of planning, organizing and conducting 18 sport competitions in the 2009 Canada Games, organizing conferences in preparation for the competitions, overseeing test-event competitions, scheduling and general conduct of the sporting events for the Island-wide Games, utilizing in excess of 40 different venues.

Term of employment for all positions will be from September 1, 2007 to September 30, 2009.

Salary commencing at $35,000/annum + benefits
